Adding Video to a Scoop

Although pictures represent the most popular way to visually communicate a given topic, some situations just call for a video to fully capture the meaning. The caveat is that videos are not as memory efficient as pictures so you will need to watch the total size of the clip you are attempting to transfer over mobile networks.
On Scoop Mobile App: adding video to a scoop
You can add a video to a scoop by using the onboard camera or by selecting an existing video file stored on your handheld. In either case, start by locating and opening the desired scoop from the scoops page (accessible via bottom menu bar in the home page of the mobile app). This takes you to the given scoop’s overview tab. Here, tap on the video icon (identified by a video clapboard icon) to open the video tab for the given scoop. Then follow the instructions below for each case:
To add a video from camera:
- Inside the video tab of the given scoop tap on the record video button. This initiates the camera live view.
- Point the camera at the desired scene and use camera controls to record a video and press stop when finished.
- If you are satisfied with your recording press use button if not press retake to re-record video.
- Once you press “Use” Scoop will return you to the video page for the current scoop where you can play, add caption or comment on your video.
To add an existing video from memory card:
