Inviting People To Your Scoop

Often you create a scoop to work with others on a given topic, task or issue. Once you have added an introduction and media to describe your topic, it’s time to invite people. To invite someone all you need is their email address. Your invitees needs not have a Scoop account to start; they can view your scoops you share on the web via your invitation link. Later they can sign up for to comment or upload media.
Adding A New Invitee
- In the scoops list locate the desired scoop and select to open. This takes you to the given scoop’s overview page.
- Locate and open the sharing page (identified by a double-person icon).
- In the sharing page, select a contact from your mobile contacts or type the email address of the person you wish to invite.
iPhone: press the add invitee (plus sign) button to add an invitee
Android: press the add invitee button on bottom menu bar
Blackberry: first enter the email address or select from contacts then press add to List - Select a role from the drop-down menu for the invitee. The default role is contributor but you can also select visitor (to restrict the person from uploading content) or lead (to give full control of this scoop to another person).
- Designate whether the invitee can invite others.
- When you are satisfied with the invitee information press save/submit. In Online mode, the new invitees are immediately notified. In Offline mode this happens the next time you run synchronization.
Blackberry: on this device type you can add multiple invitees before saving.
On Web App:
- Locate the desired scoop from the scoops list and click to open. This takes you to the given scoop’s overview page.
- In the overview page, go to the sharing tab (identified by a double-person icon)
- Click on invite people icon. A pop-up dialog opens up that allows adding one or more invitees.
- Enter an email address or select a person from your Scoop contacts.
- You can add more invitees by pressing the add another invitee button.
- For each invitee select a role from the drop-down menu. The default role is contributor but you can also select visitor (to restrict the person from uploading content) or lead (to give control of this scoop to another person).
- For each person you can also designate whether he or she can invite others. The corresponding access rights for each person is displayed in the table.
When you are satisfied with the list of invitees you can edit the invitation message (emailed automatically by Scoop) or simply use the default. Press the done link at the bottom of dialog to send the invitations. You can return to the same page at a later date to add more invitees, edit the details of existing invitees or to simply re-invite them.
Editing & Re-inviting An Existing Invitee
- Open the sharing list for a desired scoop.
- Locate the invitee whom you would like to edit and re-invite.
- Edit the role for the given invitee and his/her privilege to invite others
iPhone: tap on the invitee to open and edit
Android: tap the quick action arrow (on right of each row) for the invitee and choose edit
Blackberry: edit each invitee in place within the table row then press save
On Web App:
- Locate the desired scoop from the scoops list and click to open. This takes you to the given scoop’s overview page.
- In the overview page, go to the sharing tab (identified by a double-person icon)
- Locate the invitee you wish to edit and click on the actions icon, then select delete
- Edit the role or invitation privilege for the given invitee and choose whether to send a message
When you are satisfied with the changes you have made to the invitee you can edit the invitation message (emailed automatically by Scoop), use the default or uncheck the checkbox to prevent one from being sent. Press the done link at the bottom of dialog to save these changes and send invitation if applicable.
TIP: you can use the edit / re-invite operation described here to remind your invitees to visit your scoop.
Un-inviting An Invitee
On Mobile App:
- Open the sharing list for a desired scoop.
- Locate the invitee whom you would like to edit and re-invite.
- Edit the role for the given invitee and his/her privilege to invite others
